Dan has over 35 years of IT experience in business development and sales leadership. Working with companies such as IBM, Siemens, and Polycom, he was also an integral part of 3 IPO start- up companies including Ascend Communications, the leader in ISDN technology. Dan has a Business degree from Olivet Nazarene University with concentration in Economics and Psychology. Dan is a graduate of Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching and certified as an Executive Leadership coach.
When not at MotherG, you can find Dan and his wife taking 3-day trips traveling the Midwest, touring old historical mansions. At home they find time to spend with their grandson, transplanting plants flowers in the landscaping, or a quiet evening on the deck watching sunsets. (In the winter they are reading by the fireplace!)
In the community Jenny and Dan facilitate a Love and Logic parenting class within their church working with parents struggling with their children’s disciplines and behaviors. As an internal optimist Dan is quick to engage and challenge individuals to seek the best for their lives and position themselves accordingly. He enjoys celebrating individual successes and encourages people to enjoy the present moment of life.
Favorite hobby: Golf, playing cards, and puzzling
Favorite place to eat: Townhouse Café in St Charles
Most exciting experience: Induction into the Olivet Nazarene University Athletic Hall of Fame
Most terrifying experience: Jenny, my wife, and I decided that we would allow our 2 son’s ages 10 and 6 to walk the long stairway up to the next level in Disney World while we rode the escalator. When we arrived at the top we waited and looked through the crowd for the boys to appear. They were not there. We panicked, called for the Disney police, and started yelling their names. Within a few minutes they surfaced on the other side of the escalator. They had decided to cross over at the midway point and walk up the other set of stairs.
My favorite place in Chicagoland, or thing about Chicago: The Theater District, The Goodman Theater, or Second City. A dinner before or after the Show is always in order whether we eat at Catch 35, Carson’s Ribs, or a new restaurant opening. The United Center to watch the BlackHawks is second in line.
